Hi! Long time no see. It's a Monday morning-afternoon.

WireGuard pissed me off so I'm backtracking on it. The first real call to action for my homelab came to me last week when my friend wanted to play Vintage Story and I didn't want to pay for server hosting. I spun up an Ubuntu Server VM with thin specs (low ram, low storage) and, for some reason, started hosting a Hamachi instance on my laptop... Which I'll migrate to the server eventually, but, yanno. I set it up first and then realized the error of my ways.

Anyways, Hamachi makes it super, super easy to make a VPS. That sounds like an ad, but really, it took three clicks to set up and then allow my friend to connect. My troubleshooting mostly came from setting up the VS server -- I installed dotnet 8.0 or something, and the VS configs were set to look for nine-oh or seven-oh, so I had to edit those as well as change some filepaths in the main config to get them the way I liked them.

Aside from that, I'm starting my eJPT exam tonight, hooray. A little nervous, but I've talked to some people and they say don't sweat. I know some guys who finished in, like, 6 hours, so I've got a legacy to live up to. Full pun intended. Also starting on some "research" in cloud computing -- I say that because it's a fake-ish research paper, I'm still an undergrad, I've got no grants. But if I like this project enough maybe I'll make it a real thing! We'll see. Keep on rockin' in the free world. - legacv
